Tips:
- Contact
Information – This should include your full name, main
and alternative phone numbers, email address, home address, city,
state and zip code.
- Objective
Statement – This statement helps us identify your career
direction. It ties the position being offered with what you
have to offer.
- Professional Summary, Profile,
Qualifications or Synopsis
- A
summary including a brief listing of what you have done, and what
you kow you can do.
- Employment History / Career
Background – List
your employment history with the most recent first. Give the name
of the company, city and state and the dates of employment. Bullet
points can be helpful to record your responsibilities at each
company.
- Education - Educational
achievements are important and should be highlighted if they are
relevant to the job offering.
- Other
Information of Interest - List
any relevant associations or professional organizations
to which you are member. List hobbies, volunteer work and
outside activities if they are directly relevant to the position in
which you are interested. DO NOT list
personal information, such as: marital status, physical health,
height, weight, number of dependents, gender, marital status, age,

Letter Tips:
- Send a cover
letter with your resume.
- Include the
position that you are interested in and why you would be a
fit.
- Research the
company so you can relate relative information to your skills and
talents in the cover letter.
- Highlight
your relevant skills, experience or

things that are not included in your
resume.
- Encourage the
reader to discover more about you through your

- Include

References
- Do not supply
references with your resume.
- Create a
separate document that lists your
references.
- Typically
Timberland Partners requests at least three professional
references.
- Include the
name, job title, company name, street address, phone number and if
possible, an e-mail address for your reference. Also,
indicate how long you worked with this
individual.
- Ask
permission to use references.
- Timberland
Partners prefers references to include individuals that have served
in a supervisory role to you.
- If you list
personal references, it is beneficial to point out their
relationship to you, for example: coworker, instructor,
etc.
Examples
of Work
Timberland
Partners does not require you to bring examples of work to your
interview. However, this may be your opportunity to create a
great visual experience for your prospective employer. Choose
from a course, a job or project that relates to the position
offered and showcases your skills or talents. Some examples
are:

photo.

created during an internship.
- A press
release written in a class.
