ROBERT L. FRANSEN
President
Robert Fransen is the President of Timberland Partners. Prior to forming Timberland Partners in 1992, he was an apartment sales broker for CB Richard Ellis.
 
He is a member of the National Multi Housing Council, Minnesota Multi Housing Association, National Association of Industrial & Office Properties and holds the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation.
 
 
TERRY L. COOK
Senior Vice President

 
Terry Cook is the Senior Vice President of Timberland Partners overseeing the Asset Management Department. He is also a Partner in a number of the Timberland Partners partnerships.
 
Possessing a unique ability to quickly reposition under-performing assets by applying aggressive marketing strategies, Terry has a proven track record of obtaining maximum investor yields. He joined the firm in 1993 and has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in operating both residential and commercial real estate. In addition, he has been responsible for overseeing the repositioning, construction and renovation activities of numerous properties in the Timberland Partners Portfolio.
 
He is an active member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association National Association of Industrial & Office Properties Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors Building Owners and Managers Institute.
 
Trained at Brown College in communications, Terry also attended the University of Northern Iowa and recently obtained his RPA (Real Property Administrator) designation from the University of St. Thomas.

 

MATT FRANSEN
Vice President of Real Estate Investments, Principal

 
Matt Fransen is the Vice President of Real Estate Investments for Timberland Partners.  Matt handles all acquisition, disposition, and financing activity for the firm, including sourcing, underwriting, market analysis, and due diligence for new property acquisitions. Since joining Timberland Partners in 2007, Matt is responsible for the acquisition of over 9,000 units to Timberland Partners’ apartment portfolio.
 
Before joining the Timberland Partners team, Matt worked for Denver based AIMCO, one of the largest apartment REIT’s in the country. At AIMCO he participated in the acquisition and disposition of over $4 billion in multifamily property sales nationwide. Following his tenure at AIMCO, Matt and a partner formed a company focused on multifamily acquisitions in Houston, TX for institutional investment fund clients.
 
Matt graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado-Boulder with an emphasis in Finance.
 

 

BECKY YONTS
Vice President of Training

 
Becky Yonts joined Timberland Partners in 2005 and is Vice President of Training. She brings to the company a wealth of experience and knowledge with over 30 years in the multi-housing industry.

Prior to joining Timberland Partners, Becky was President and Owner of Multi-Housing Partners, Inc., a contract leasing, training and consulting company. Before forming her own company in 2001 she was Vice President of Operations at Apartment Search, one of the nation’s largest apartment locator services.

Becky served as the 2014 Board Chair on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Multi Housing Association.  She is a CRM (Certified Resident Manager) and holds a Minnesota Real Estate Broker's License. She also serves on the Charis Prison Ministry Board of Directors and is a member of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association and the National Multi-Housing Council.


 
LAREN HOLCOMB
Vice President of
Facilities Management
 
Laren Holcomb joined Timberland Partners in 1999.  Prior to joining Timberland Partners, Laren spent three years with Valley Realty, Inc., a real estate development company based in North Dakota.  Laren worked on the development, construction and management of multi-family apartment communities and single family homes.  Laren started as a Property Manager with Timberland Partners managing a portfolio which grew to over 1500 apartment units in the Midwest and Texas.   Laren has helped in the acquisition and repositioning of over 5,000 apartment units covering eight states during his tenure with Timberland Partners.  
 
Laren graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1996 with a Degree in finance and a minor in economics.  Laren holds a Minnesota Real Estate License and belongs to the Minnesota Housing Association and the Iowa Landlord Association.

 
DAN HOIBY
Vice President of Accounting

 
Dan Hoiby is the Vice President of Accounting Services for Timberland Partners.  He oversees all accounting functions and plays an active role in maintaining the company benefit package.
 
Prior to joining Timberland Partners in 2002, Dan was Senior Accountant at a local public accounting firm Bertram, Vallez, Kaplan & Talbot, Ltd.  At BVKT, he specialized in manufacturing, construction and rental real estate.
 
Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Cloud State University, College of Business.  He also achieved his CPA designation during his public accounting career.  Dan maintains an active membership with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
 
 
GREG RIBICH
Vice President of
Investor Relations

 
Greg Ribich is the Vice President of Investor Relations with Timberland Partners.  His additional responsibilities include Asset Management and Risk Management/Insurance.  Greg joined Timberland Partners in 2008, bringing over 20 years of apartment industry experience with him.

Before joining Timberland Partners, Greg was the CFO of two prominent Twin Cities apartment development/managment companies.  At Stuart Management Company, he arranged apartment financing transactions, maintained banking relationships and ran all aspects the financial department.   While with Healey Ramme Company, Greg was involved in the structured finance of various apartment development and refinance transactions.   He began his career in public accounting focusing on real estate clients working for Berc and Fox Ltd. and Delloite & Touche.

Greg earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major concentration in accounting from the University of St. Thomas.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member in the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he served on the Construction and Real Estate Task Force.  He is also a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association.

 
 
MARY KAHL
Regional Vice President

 
Mary Kahl serves as Regional Vice President for Timberland Partners working on the front lines with our District and Community Managers. Mary brings more than 25 years of experience in managing multifamily and commercial properties spanning the United States.

Before joining Timberland Partners, Mary held the role of Regional Manager at GOLDMARK Property Management, a Fargo based investment real estate company, where she managed the operations of the Minneapolis office and served as leader to the greater Minneapolis, Omaha and Des Moines locations. Prior to that, Mary has held leadership positions for a number of management firms including Insignia, AIMCO, Dominium Management and Village Green. Mary’s years of experience include management of new construction, market rate and tax credit communities, affordable housing and third party fee management. In addition Mary has managed portfolios for both public and private REITS.

Mary has an Associate Degree in marketing from Dakota County AVTI and obtained her Certificate in Affordable Housing. She is a current member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association and has previously served on the board of the Greater Miami Apartment Association.

 
 
PAM BROWN
Regional Vice President

 
Pam Brown serves as a Regional Vice President for Timberland Partners and supports both District and Community Managers throughout the Midwest. Pam brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the company. Prior to joining Timberland Partners, Pam worked for several national companies including Archon Group, AMS Management, McNeil Real Estate, Johnstown and Southmark Corporation.

Pam’s experience includes extensive work in market-rate, Section 8 and tax-rate communities. She holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Spencer School of Business.

 
 
ANIKA YOKANOVICH
Regional Vice President

 
Anika Yokanovich serves as a Regional Vice President for Timberland Partners. Anika started in the multi-family industry in 1995 and has experience in multi-family, residential housing and commercial real estate management.
 
Prior to joining Timberland Partners in 2015, Anika provided leadership as a Regional Manager and Director. Anika’s experience has spanned across market rate communities, various affordable housing products, including tax credit and project-based Section 8, third-party fee management, as well as new construction and historic rehab communities in urban, suburban and rural markets.
 
Anika served on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association (MHA) and on several MHA committees. As an advocate for education within the multi-housing industry, Anika teaches various classes on Fair Housing, marketing and financial awareness and performance.
 
Anika pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing. She has continued her education by taking coursework through the University of Minnesota. Anika has held her Minnesota Real Estate License since 1995 and holds her Minnesota Real Estate Broker’s License.
 
RYAN SAILER
Vice President
of Development

 
Ryan Sailer is the Vice President of Development for Timberland Partners. Ryan handles site selection, site acquisition, feasibility analysis, financing, and design and construction oversight for all new development.
 
Before joining Timberland Partners, Ryan worked for Minneapolis-based developer, Sherman Associates, Inc., where he was involved in new development, redevelopment, and historic rehabilitation of projects. Following his tenure at Sherman Associates, Ryan formed a company which developed and still maintains ownership of several projects in Minneapolis and Denver.
 
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.


 
Tony Maulwurf
Vice President
of Information Technology

 
Tony Maulwurf serves as the Vice President of Information Technology and is responsible technology strategy and systems management support throughout the portfolio.

Prior to Joining Timberland Partners in 2010, Tony was the Software Systems Administrator for StuartCo, where he was responsible for the upkeep, configuration and operation for the company’s computer systems. He has also held roles within Information Technology for Fairview Health Services and Construction Project Services. 

Tony graduated from The College of St. Scholastica with a Bachelor of Arts, Computer Information Systems and went on to receive his Master of Arts, Management with concentrations in Organization Development and Business Leadership and an MBA with a concentration in Finance.
 
Erin Fransen
Asset Manager, Principal

 
Erin Fransen is an Asset Manager and Principal at Timberland Partners.  Erin’s asset management portfolio consists of properties throughout the central United States.  As a principal of Timberland Partners, she has oversight of the human resources, marketing, training, and information technology departments.  Erin also manages the insurance needs for our portfolio of properties.

Erin began her career in the multihousing industry in 2013 after eight years in various roles at Target Corporation, the last of which was Digital Marketing Manager.  Before becoming an Asset Manager, she held roles in operations, marketing, and investor relations. 

Erin is active in the Minnesota Multi Housing Association as a member of the Board of Directors.  She is also the liaison to MHA’s Careers Task Force and is involved on the Emerging Leaders Committee. 

Erin is a graduate of Boston College with degrees in Finance and Hispanic Studies
