Robert Fransen is the President of Timberland Partners. Prior to forming Timberland Partners in 1992, he was an apartment sales broker for CB Richard Ellis.
He is a member of the National Multi Housing Council, Minnesota Multi Housing Association, National Association of Industrial & Office Properties and holds the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation.
Senior Vice President

Terry Cook, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 1993 and has extensive knowledge operating both residential and commercial real estate. His responsibilities include overseeing the repositioning, construction and renovation activities for properties throughout the portfolio. He possesses a unique ability to quickly reposition under-performing assets and has a proven track record of obtaining maximum investor yields. 
He is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association National Association of Industrial & Office Properties Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors Building Owners and Managers Institute. 
Terry attended the University of Northern Iowa and earned his Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from the University of St. Thomas.


Vice President of Real Estate Investments, Principal

Matt Fransen, Vice President of Real Estate Investments, handles all acquisition, disposition, and financing activities, including sourcing, underwriting, market analysis, and due diligence for new property acquisitions. He joined the firm in 2007, and is responsible for the acquisition of over 9,000 units to the  portfolio.
Before joining Timberland Partners, Matt worked for AIMCO, where he participated in the acquisition and disposition of over $4 billion in multifamily property sales nationwide. Following his tenure at AIMCO, Matt and a partner formed a company focused on multifamily acquisitions in Houston, TX for institutional investment fund clients. Matt graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado-Boulder with an emphasis in Finance.


Senior Vice President of Training

Becky Yonts joined Timberland Partners in 2005 and is Senior Vice President of Training. She brings to the company a wealth of experience and knowledge with over 30 years in the multi-housing industry.

Prior to joining Timberland Partners, Becky was President and Owner of Multi-Housing Partners, Inc., a contract leasing, training and consulting company. She also previously served as Vice President of Operations at Apartment Search. Becky is a Certified Resident Manager and holds her Minnesota Real Estate Broker's License. She is a member of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, previously serving as Chair on the 
Board of Directors, and the National Multi-Housing Council.
Vice President of
Facilities Management
Laren Holcomb, Vice President of Facilities Management, joined the company in 1999 and brings over 20 years of industry experience in asset management, construction management and development. He also oversees site feasibility, design and construction oversight for new development. 

Prior to joining Timberland Partners, Laren worked on the development, construction and management of multi-family apartment communities and single family homes for Valley Realty, Inc. He belongs to the Minnesota Housing Association and the Iowa Landlord Association. Laren earned a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota and holds a Minnesota Real Estate license. 

Chief Financial Officer

Dan Hoiby, Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for establishing company-wide objectives, procedures and practices to optimize the company's financial performance. He oversees all accounting and financial reporting, lender servicing and auditing and manages the banking, CPA and tax relationships as well as insurance and claims processes.  

Prior to joining Timberland Partners in 2002, Dan was a Senior Accountant at Bertram, Vallez, Kaplan & Talbot, Ltd., where he earned his CPA designation, and specialized in manufacturing, construction and rental real estateDan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Cloud State University.  
Vice President of
Investor Relations

Greg Ribich, Vice President of Investor Relations, joined Timberland Partners in 2008, and brings over 20 years of industry experience. He began his career in public accounting with Berc and Fox Ltd. and Delloite & Touche, focusing on real estate clients. He served as CFO for StuartCo, where he arranged apartment financing, maintained banking relationships and ran all aspects the financial department. He also served as CFO for Healey Ramme, where he was involved in the structured finance of apartment development and refinance transactions. 

Greg is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he served on the Construction and Real Estate Task Force. He is also a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association. 
Greg earned his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of St. Thomas. 
Senior Vice President
of Property Management
Mary Kahl serves as Senior Vice President of Property Management, overseeing all apartment management activities for the company. She brings more than 30 years of experience in managing multifamily and commercial properties spanning the United States.

Before joining Timberland Partners in 2009, Mary was the Regional Manager at GOLDMARK and held leadership positions for a number of management firms including Insignia, AIMCO, Dominium and Village Green. Her experience includes management of new construction, market rate and tax credit communities, affordable housing and third party fee management. In addition she has managed portfolios for both public and private REITS.

Mary holds an Associate Degree in marketing from Dakota County AVTI and obtained her Certificate in Affordable Housing. She is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association and has previously served on the board of the Greater Miami Apartment Association.

Regional Vice President

Pam Brown, Regional Vice President, supports District and Community Managers throughout the Midwest. She brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the company, including extensive work in market-rate, Section 8 and tax-rate communities. 

Prior to joining Timberland Partners, Pam worked for several national companies including Archon Group, AMS Management, McNeil Real Estate, Johnstown and Southmark Corporation. She holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Spencer School of Business.
Regional Vice President

Anika Yokanovich, Regional Vice President, brings over 20 years of experience in multi-family, residential housing and commercial real estate management. Her expertise includes market rate communities, affordable housing products, including tax credit and project-based Section 8, third-party fee management, as well as new construction and historic rehab communities in urban, suburban and rural markets.
Anika is a member of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, serving on multiple committees and past Board of Directors. She holds a Minnesota Real Estate License and Broker’s License. Anika pursued a Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in Business Administration and has completed coursework through the University of Minnesota. 
Vice President
of Development

Ryan Sailer, Vice President of Development, is responsible for site selection, site acquisition, feasibility analysis, financing, and design and construction oversight for all new development.
Previously, Ryan worked for Sherman Associates, Inc. in new development, redevelopment, and historic rehabilitation. Following his tenure at Sherman, Ryan formed a company which developed and still maintains ownership of several projects in Minneapolis and Denver. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Tony Maulwurf
Vice President
of Information Technology

Tony Maulwurf, Vice President of Information Technology, is responsible technology strategy and systems management support throughout the portfolio.

Prior to Joining Timberland Partners in 2010, Tony was the Software Systems Administrator for StuartCo, where he was responsible for the upkeep, configuration and operation for the company’s computer systems. He has also held roles within Information Technology for Fairview Health Services and Construction Project Services. 

Tony received 
Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems; Master of Arts, Management with concentrations in Organization Development and Business Leadership; and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from The College of St. Scholastic.
Erin Fransen
Asset Manager, Principal

Erin Fransen, Asset Manager and Principal, manages asset and insurance needs throughout the portfolio and oversees the Human Resources and Marketing departments. She has also held roles within the operations and investor relations groups. 

Prior to joining Timberland Partners in 2013, Erin worked for Target Corporation in business analysis and marketing management. She is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association Board of Directors, Emerging Leaders Committee and liaison to the Careers Task Force. Erin is a graduate of Boston College with degrees in Finance and Hispanic Studies.­­­­
Gina Lemon
Vice President
 of Human Resources

Gina Lemon, Vice President of Human Resources, is responsible for all strategic development and operations for the HR department. Prior to joining Timberland Partners in 2011, Gina was a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Orbital ATK, focusing on organizational and talent development, employee relations, staffing, training and development. She previously held roles as an Employee Relations Specialist with Ameriprise Financial and as a Human Resource Benefits Supervisor for Target.

Gina is a 
Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resource Management,  and through the HR Certification Institute. She is also MBTI certified. Gina received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
