Leadership Team

BOB FRANSEN
President

Bob founded Timberland Partners in 1992, when he convinced a couple of commercial real estate friends to join him in acquiring a 46-unit apartment property. For many years he was a leader in the Twin Cities apartment brokerage field, first at CB Richard Ellis (now known as CBRE) and eventually forming his own apartment brokerage, Fransen Appert Real Estate Group, Inc.

Bob has been the vision behind the growth of Timberland Partners, leading it from a single partnership focused on personal investment returns, to a national organization that is focused on enriching the lives of hundreds of investment partners, hundreds of team members and thousands of residents.

He grew up on a farm near Coleharbor, North Dakota, and holds a business degree from the University of North Dakota and was inducted into UND's Athletic Hall of Fame. He is a member of the National Multi Housing Council, the Minnesota Multi Housing Association, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.

TERRY COOK
Senior Vice President

Terry has been with the company since 1993 and oversees the repositioning, construction and renovation activities for properties throughout the portfolio. He is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association, National Association of Industrial & Office Properties and Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors Building Owners and Managers Institute. Terry attended the University of Northern Iowa and earned his Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from the University of St. Thomas.

ERIN FRANSEN
Chief Operating Officer

Erin is responsible for leading, managing and integrating all major functions of property management operations. She oversees the Human Resources, Finance, Operations and Marketing departments. In addition, she manages asset and insurance needs throughout the portfolio. She has also held roles within the regional management and investor relations groups. She is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association Board of Directors, Emerging Leaders Committee and liaison to the Careers Task Force. Erin is a graduate of Boston College with degrees in Finance and Hispanic Studies.

MATT FRANSEN
Chief Investment Officer

Matt joined the firm in 2007 and handles all acquisition, disposition, and financing activities, including sourcing, underwriting, market analysis, and due diligence for new property acquisitions. Matt graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado-Boulder with an emphasis in Finance.

DAN HOIBY
Chief Financial Officer

Dan has been with the firm since 2002 and oversees all accounting and financial reporting, lender servicing and auditing and manages the banking, CPA and tax relationships as well as insurance and claims processes. Dan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Cloud State University.

ANDREA BROWN
Controller

Andrea joined the company in 2002 as a Staff Accountant, before being promoted to Senior Accountant and Accounting Supervisor. She oversees the Accounting Department and manages overall corporate accounting. Andrea received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

MARY KAHL
Senior VP of Property Management

Mary joined the company in 2009, bringing more than 30 years of experience in multifamily and commercial property management. Her experience includes management of new construction, market rate and tax credit communities. She holds an Associate Degree in marketing from Dakota County AVTI and obtained her Certificate in Affordable Housing. She is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association and previously served on the board of the Greater Miami Apartment Association.

LAREN HOLCOMB
Vice President of Facilities Management

Laren joined the company in 1999 and brings over 20 years of experience in asset management, construction management and development. He also oversees site feasibility, design and construction oversight for new development. He belongs to the Minnesota Housing Association and the Iowa Landlord Association. Laren earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota and holds a Minnesota Real Estate license.

GREG RIBICH
Vice President of Investor Relations

Greg brings over 20 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since 2008. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he served on the Construction and Real Estate Task Force. He is also a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association. Greg earned his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of St. Thomas.

GINA LEMON
Vice President of Human Resources

Gina is responsible for human resource strategic development and operations and has been with the company since 2011. She is a Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resource Management, and through the HR Certification Institute and is also MBTI certified. Gina received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

RYAN SAILER
Vice President of Development

Ryan is responsible for all aspects of new development, including oversight of day-to-day operations, long-term visioning and strategic planning. He brings over 15 years of development experience in new development, redevelopment, and historic rehabilitation projects totaling over $475 million in total development costs. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.

BECKY YONTS
Senior Vice President of Training

Becky brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with over 30 years in the multi-housing industry. She joined the company in 2005 and is a Certified Resident Manager and holds her Minnesota Real Estate Broker's License. Becky is a member of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, previously serving as Chair on the Board of Directors, and the National Multi-Housing Council.

TONY MAULWURF
Vice President of Information Technology

Tony is responsible technology strategy and systems management support throughout the portfolio. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems; Master of Arts, Management with concentrations in Organization Development and Business Leadership; and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from The College of St. Scholastic.

MARTI EDWARDS
Director of Marketing

Marti oversees all marketing related activities, and provides strategic direction for the marketing team. She brings over 25 years of experience in marketing, design and business development and is a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association. Marti holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

JESSE ZETTEL
Revenue Manager, Special Projects

Jesse oversees revenue management and ancillary income programs through LRO set up and configuration, policy and administration. He also coordinates vending arrangements through contract negotiation and renewal. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management.

JESSIE CLAUSEN
Executive Assistant

As part of the Investor Relations team, Jessie provides ongoing service and support to our investment partners. She also supports our acquisitions team, development team, and president Bob Fransen. Jessie has been with the company since 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College.

SUNDAE CAUDLE
Regional Vice President

Sundae oversees management of the Tennessee and Florida property portfolio and brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to her role. She holds her CPM Designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, maintains a Principal Broker-Real Estate Broker’s License through the Tennessee Real Estate Commission and is a Certified Manager of Community Associations through the CAI Community Association Institute.

ANIKA YOKANOVICH
Regional Vice President

Anika brings over 20 years of experience in multi-family, residential housing and commercial real estate management. She is a member of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, having served on multiple committees and as part of the Board of Directors. She holds a Minnesota Real Estate License and Broker’s License. Anika pursued a Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in Business Administration and completed coursework through the University of Minnesota.

PAM BROWN
Regional Vice President

Pam supports Regional and Community Managers throughout the Midwest. She brings nearly 30 years of industry experience, including extensive work in market-rate, Section 8 and tax-rate communities. She holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Spencer School of Business.

BILL THURMES
Regional Manager

Bill oversees management of a portfolio of properties located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and brings more than ten years of industry experience. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Alexandria Technical College.

DONNY DAVENPORT
Regional Manager

Donny oversees management of the Florida property portfolio and brings over 25 years of industry experience. He is active in several Florida Apartment Associations and holds his CAPS Designation from NAA. Donny completed business management coursework at Enterprise State and Troy State Universities.

ANDREA SMITH
Regional Manager

Andrea oversees management of the Kansas property portfolio. She joined the company in 2012 as an Executive Assistant and brings over ten years of industry experience. Andrea holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business management from Rasmussen College.

SHANNON THOMPSON
Regional Manager

Shannon oversees management of a portfolio of properties located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She joined the firm in 2009 as a community manager and brings nearly 20 years of industry experience. Shannon holds her CRM designation from the Minnesota Multi Housing Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota-Morris.

AMANDA HAWKINS
Regional Manager

Amanda oversees a portfolio of properties in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. She joined the firm in 2007 as a leasing consultant and brings over ten years of industry experience. Amanda holds an Associates of Applied Science degree in Advertising, Communications and Design from Saint Cloud Technical College.

SUSAN HORNER
Regional Manager

Susan oversees the Michigan property portfolio and has been with the firm since 2008 and brings more than 30 years of industry experience. She holds a CPM Designation from IREM.

BECKY CURRIE
Regional Manager

Becky oversees management for properties located in Missouri and Illinois. She brings over 30 years of industry experience in both sales and management. Becky completed coursework at St Louis Community College and is a Licensed Real Estate Agent with the Missouri Real Estate Commission.

JAIME RUML
Regional Manager

Jaime oversees the portfolio of properties located in Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio. She brings nearly 15 years of industry experience and serves on the Apartment Association of Nebraska Board of Directors. Jaime obtained her CAM and CAPS designations from the National Apartment Association.

STACY GUTHRIE
Regional Manager

Stacy oversees properties in Oklahoma, Iowa and Kansas and brings over 20 years of industry experience. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from Wichita State University.
